Ben Davis, M.M.M, Instructor
Born and raised in Chicago Ill, graduated from Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable High School. Shortly thereafter I joined the U.S. Army. Serviced during the Viet Nam Era in the mid 60’s, I have been blessed by God to survive without any psychological, physical or emotional challenges.
After proudly serving our country, I went back to Chicago, got a good job, got married and was blessed by God with three lovely daughters. I moved to Tucson from Chicago in the Fall of 1978 and have been here ever since. I joined Grace Temple M.B. Church in 1980, ordained as a deacon in December of 1987 and ordained to work in the Gospel Ministry in May of 2001. I served the Body of Christ as interim pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for about 14 months; shortly thereafter, the church was remodeled inside and out for the new pastor and congregation. I went back to Grace Temple to serve under the leadership of Pastor D. Grady Scott and remain until now.
I retired from Raytheon Missile System as quality Assurance Analyst after seventeen years. Prior to my retirement, I was appointed to the Pima County Consolidated Justice Court bench as a Hearing Officer (2000).
In 2008, I was appointed as Judge Pro Tempore to the same bench; in June of 2008, my appointment was not renewed. In October of 2008, The Honorable Judge Ronald A. Wilson appointed me to the bench as Judge Pro Tempore in the City of South Tucson where I currently serve.
I received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Management from University of Phoenix in 2004 and 2006 respectively. My GPA was 3.8 upon graduation…One of my finest works if I have to say so.
I have taught algebra, ESL, social skills, habits of excellence, citizenship, chess, table tennis and currently mentor with young middle school males in the TUSD system. I am very active in the community in social and legal matters that impact our community in positive and negative manners.
